Work on the hotel began in 2004, with the conversion of one of the city's historic buildings. Whereas the outside of the building formerly known as Central Buildings retains its 19th century majesty, the inside has been transformed into an opulent Beatles-themed hotel with all the modern comforts (and more!) one would expect from a four star hotel. This historic building has achieved a 4 star rating.
The hotel is ideal for that very special Beatles get-away. The reception is elegant with its marble pillars and hardwood floors -- you will be greeted to Beatles Music playing softly in the background on your arrival.
There is a Wall of Fame, with many photographs of stars holding their favourite Beatles albums -- including Elton John, Tom Jones, Bryan Ferry, Gerry Marsden (whose favourite is Please Please Me), and a wonderful picture of Alf Bicknell, The Beatles' chauffeur in the '60s.
There are two bars; Bar Four where you can have your own Beatles-themed cocktail, and Hari's Bar, decorated with Indian memorabilia. Food is served in Blake's Restaurant and in The Brasserie - which both offer a range of delicious modern cuisine and a fine variety of wines and which are tastefully decorated with more Beatles-related artwork.
Breakfast is included and served in both Blakes and the Brasserie.
For accommodation, the Beatles fan will be most intrigued with the Lennon Suite and McCartney Suite. These two suites are the hotel's top of the range; the Lennon suite is decorated in white and features a white grand piano.
The remaining rooms in the hotel are either luxury or deluxe. All are equipped with double or twin beds, large flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, desk and chair, with a separate bathroom. You can control everything -- the lighting, TV etc. -- from control panels fixed to the beds, and all windows are double glazed.
A very special feature is the Wedding Suite which is aptly named "Two of Us".
The full team of staff are trained in of Beatles history, Liverpool history and travel facilities, and will be pleased to help you plan your stay in Liverpool.
The hotel is a short walk from Liverpool Lime Street station, from where taxis are available.
There is car parking at the nearby Liverpool One Building at a cost of £8 per day for residents; this will be available from May onwards.
