About the author

David Rowley has spent 17 years researching and writing about the music of the Beatles.

His first book, Beatles for Sale, an account of all the band's songs, was published in 2002. It was whilst updating this book that Rowley decided to list all the attributes that made the band so successful –- which led to him writing his second book, Help!
