[A Very Private Diary - Revisited]

Award-winning screen and theatre star Victor Spinetti has appeared in over thirty films including three with The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Help! and Magical Mystery Tour, as well as co-writing a play, In his Own Write with John Lennon which appeared at the National Theatre in 1968.

In this one-man show, Victor unlocks his very private diary of an extrodinary life in show business. He tells stories about: The Beatles, Peter Sellers, Sean Connery, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Salvador Dali, Marlene Dietrich, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mick Jagger, Franco Zeffirelli, Laurence Olivier, Joan Littlewood, Brendan Behan, Richard Attenborough, Keith Richards, David Merrick, Princess Margaret and many more (if that's possible!).

This sensational and hilarious evening of comedy, gossip and revelations has enjoyed sell-out success in the West End, Edinburgh Festival and on tour world-wide.

Directed by legendary theatre director and broadcaster Ned Sherrin; A Very Private Diary...Revisited! was the last production that Ned worked on and one of his favourite shows. This 2008 revisited production is dedicated to him and coincides with the release of Victor's biography Up Front this autumn in paperback.

Victor Spinetti - Up Front

[Victor Spinetti - Up Front]

Described by Sir Paul McCartney as 'the man who makes clouds disappear', Victor Spinetti is one of Britain's best-loved and most outrageous performers.

He became known to the Sixties generation through his comedic roles in the landmark Beatles films and the now classic Return of the Pink Panther, starring Peter Sellers, and his remarkable wit and versatility have earned him fresh popularity with every generation since.

A veteran stage actor, writer and director, Spinetti gives us an irresistible account of his own life, from his Welsh-Italian upbringing to his role as one of the few trusted friends of the Beatles - they insisted he was in every film they made - through to his recent portrayal of Einstein in London's West End.

Highlights include his 1964 Tony award for his Sergeant Major in Joan Littlewood's Oh What a Lovely War!, working with Laurence Olivier, and close encounters with Marlene Dietrich, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Spinetti's charismatic personality and his fabulous ability to entertain, spanning over forty years and forty films, combine to make this a book of exquisite charm, joy and irreverence.

'Thanks for the badge and membership card. I wear the badge on my school uniform blazer, which is breaking the school dress code slightly as badges aren't allowed. I don't think the teachers mind much though as it's a band they like as well!' - Roisin Mulligan, age 15.
