Liverpool Celebrates 50 Years of the Beatles

On 18 August 1962 Ringo Starr made his first appearance as the Beatles official drummer at Hulme Hall in the village of Port Sunlight, Wirral.

The four members of the band had a two hour rehearsal before taking to the stage as the headline act in the local Horticultural Society’s 17th annual dance. On that night the Fab Four were born...the rest is history.

This year, the city that gave the world the Fab Four is celebrating this anniversary with a calendar of events and activities that will last throughout the year.

Full details of all the events can by found on the BBFC website by clicking here or at the Cavern Club website here

Many of the events are free so there is no excuse to join in the party and celebrate a very special anniversary!
