A WEEKEND OF BEATLEMANIA AS THE BEATLES FESTIVAL HITS SCARBOROUGH - OOOHH!

Celebrating 50 years of Beatles music - The Beatles Festival features top look-alike & sound-alike tribute acts at the Scarborough Spa on the weekend of 15th– 16th September 2012 – providing a ‘No Mud’ indoor festival – regardless of the Great British weather.

The Beatles Festival will be celebrating 50 Years of Beatles Music 1962 -2012 providing a great nostalgic opportunity for those who lived through that glorious musical period and for younger audiences to discover the influencers of Oasis & Robbie Williams and many current pop stars.

Popular artistes include The Mersey Beatles who have been resident at the Cavern Club Liverpool for 10 years and regarded as the definitive Beatles Tribute band. If you close your eyes you could swear you were actually listening to the original Beatles. Their act will include costume changes to reflect the early ‘grey suit’ period and the Sgt Pepper outfits for the Beatles psychedelic period.

The Macca band with Neil Tudor are a Paul McCartney tribute featuring Beatles, Wings and Paul’s solo music. Neil Tudor is Paul’s official ‘double’ for adverts & commercial films.

The Cavernites are a genuine 60s beat group and will set the scene on Sunday 16th to get everyone in the 1960’s mood with Beatles, Stones and loads of hits of the period.

The Beatelles are an All-Girl Beatles tribute band and give a cool twist on Beatle music – watch & listen out for their mix/mash-up of California Dreaming with George Harrison’s - While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

The Beatle5 have the usual guitar line up plus keyboards so play those scarcer Beatle tunes such as ‘Martha my Dear’ so a full spectrum of Beatles music is guaranteed.

Session Guitarist B J Lewis will provide a ‘chill sessions’ with Chet Atkin guitar style Beatles tunes. BJ (Brian) formerly backed Cliff Richards in his Far East Tour and his guitar has featured on many records over the past 30 years.

Hey Beatles are creating waves in the Tribute community because they capture the Beatles sound perfectly. More acts are awaiting confirmation.

Between acts music will be provided by ‘Beatles and Beyond Radio Show’ with Pete Dicks which airs on 30 radio stations worldwide and genuine antique / real deal DJ - Frank Byrne. There will also be stalls and memorabilia plus pop/music photographer Stuart Homer who will take your photo and superimpose it onto a Beatles Album Cover so you have The Beatles Festival event souvenir or have a photo taken with a Beatle lookalike - all donations going to Kidney Research Charity.

Organised by former musician/record producer/event organiser Steve Foley who commented:
As an event organiser and a lifelong Beatles fan - The Beatles Festival and the Grand Hall at Scarborough Spa provided an irresistible combination. We also plan Whitby Rock Festival at the Pavilion and Scarborough Country Music Festival in November which we hope will become annual events.’

Each day is split into afternoon (Noon-5pm) and Evening (7pm-Midnight) the break enabling sound checks and evening set up. The individual sessions can be booked for £15 per pre-booked session or £20 cash on the door (if available) and Early-bird Weekend tickets at £45 rising to £50 on 1st August.

The event also gives a super reason for Daytrippers to visit Scarborough for those further afield. (Pun intended)
